Classified Council is having a Fall Pizza Party for members on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center. Not a member? No worries, just sign up or renew at the party for only $7 for the entire academic year! If you are not sure if you have already paid for the current year or not, you can check your membership status on SharePoint. Go to https://sp.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil/ and enter your name. You will be able to see if your membership is up to date. If you want to sign up or renew but can’t make it to the event, the membership form is on the Classified Council website at www.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil and hard copies are in the mailroom in AD 147. 

Stop by anytime during the party and enjoy some pizza, a photo booth with Halloween-themed props, and of course, candy. Costumes are optional but always welcome. Classified Council is reviving the pumpkin pie-baking contest! Though it hasn’t been held in a few years, it has been requested many times. Enter your homemade pie and have a chance to win a cash prize of $25. Sign up for the contest by contacting Wendy Grove at wgrove@glendale.edu or ext 5161. Rules are simple: pumpkin must be the main ingredient of the pie whether it is a cheesecake, chiffon or other type of pumpkin pie. The judging will commence at 1 p.m.

One more reason to stop by the party—The Food for Thought Pantry is in great need of hygiene items like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, etc. The party is going to be a drop-off site for pantry donations! So bring what you can. Even if you are not a Classified Council member, if you bring items to donate, you will get pizza.  

Thanks to all who stopped by our Tupperware table on Oct. 24. Every October, Classified Council holds a Tupperware fundraiser to raise money for the Student Worker Scholarships. We had a nice turnout at our table and from the online shopping option. The next fundraiser for our scholarships will be the See’s holiday sale starting in Nov. These fundraisers make the scholarships possible thanks to the support we get from the campus community.
