Classified Employees Week events included two sessions of Bingo games this year instead of just one. The games are fun and there is a decidedly competitive spirit among the participants. As it is always a popular event, it was decided that two opportunities to win lottery scratcher tickets was better than one. We hope that the Bingo winners also won big on their lottery tickets. Thank you to the classified employees for joining us and making the event so much fun.
The Student Worker Scholarship Committee now has the scholarship nominations to go over. The committee will be selecting recipients soon. There were 20 nominations this year and each one is outstanding.
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the annual Classified Council picnic, which will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Culinary Arts Patio (SV 280). Everyone is welcome to attend. Members get free lunch and non-members pay $10 at the door or may pre-pay to one of the Classified Council board members before the event.
The RSVP and sandwich choice (veggie or turkey) must be made by May 31. Go to www.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil and click on the picnic link to submit the form. We look forward to seeing you at our year-end event!
And finally, it is time for the board elections. The nomination process is now underway and the announcement of new board members will be made at the Classified Council Picnic after voting is completed.
