Garfield Campus offers a wide variety of free and accessible services for students in the Continuing Education programs (Noncredit ESL, Noncredit Business, Counseling and DSPS services, Wellness, busing to Verdugo campus career exploration and cultural events).

COUNSELING FOR NONCREDIT STUDENTS

Community Resource Referrals
Counselor:  Margaret Mansour (speaks Egyptian Arabic)

Helps students find information about low-cost services found in the area, for example:

  • Medical, dental & eye services
  • Legal services
  • Childcare services
  • Services for senior citizens
  • Domestic violence programs
  • Substance abuse programs (alcohol & drug problems)
  • Low income housing resources
  • Food pantries/banks & CalFresh information (used to be called food stamps)
  • Homeless programs & services

Mental Health Counseling
Counselor:  Margaret Mansour (speaks Egyptian Arabic)

Helps students learn how to:

  • Take care of problems of life in healthy ways
  • Decrease the negative effects of stress on your mind & body
  • Make your mind/brain healthier
  • Use healthier communication and problem-solving skills
  • Make your relationships healthier
  • Handle feelings in healthy ways
  • Become more organized & manage time more wisely

Tuesday, March 26 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Campus Tour, we have reserved a bus during the morning and evening to take our students to the Verdugo Campus

Thursday, April 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Job Fair, we have reserved a bus to take our students to the Verdugo Campus

Thursday, April 11 from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Investigative Careers Panel, we have reserved a bus to take our students to the Verdugo Campus
