Wow! Can you believe that the semester is essentially over? Yes, Wednesday, June 12th is just a few days away!
I personally am looking forward to the end of the semester and hopefully the rest and relaxation that will come with it. If you are like me, this has been one crazy and hectic school year. I could write about all the individual craziness, but I want to put that behind me. Instead, I want to write a few things about the future! Yes, the upcoming summer break.
My goals for the summer are simple: Rest, relax and disconnect! We all define these ideas differently and do them differently. So, for me how am I going to do these things? I am hoping to travel to some new and exotic places at a leisurely pace. I may sleep a few more hours each week. I am going to ride my bicycle more. I am going walk my dog more. I am going to spend more time in nature, and I am going to read for pleasure more. What are you going to do?
I am also going to do three more very important things! I am going to try to avoid coming to Glendale College during the summer, I am going to try to turn my cell phone off for long periods of time, and I am going to walk away from my computer and its electronic umbilical cord to the internet and email. My goal to help me do this is to go to places where there is no cell service (yes, there are places like that here in America) and to go to places where there is no internet service. Turning the phone off and walking away from the computer will be my biggest challenge this summer, but I am looking forward to it! What is going to be your biggest challenge this summer?
Whatever you choose to do, try and do something new and different this summer!
Thanks for reading this and have a fantastic summer!
