Chaparral 2016-2017: 25.5 Milestones

Mike Eberts

Mike Eberts (Mass Communication) ran the Boston Marathon on April 17. He ran the entire route and spilled Gatorade on himself only once. The photo was taken of him in the last mile of the marathon near Fenway Park. The Boston Marathon is held the third Monday of April, which is during GCC's Spring Break most years.

Kate Martin Rowe

Matthew Braaten

A full-length play written by Matt Braaten (Theatre Arts) will be produced as part of the 2018 season at the Talking Horse Theatre in Columbia, MO.
 
 

Lynne McGrath

In April, Lynne McGrath (Library) directed St. John Hanken’s 1907 comedy The Cassilis Engagement for the Caltech Play Readers. She also sang with the Occasional Consort  for the Annual Bungalow Heaven Tour in Pasadena, and performed with Yesteryears’ Dancers at The Homestead Museum’s Victorian event.

Steve R. Laguna

Steve R. Laguna (Social Sciences) recently participated in the OC Marathon and finished 13th out of almost 1,500 runners! Steve overcame injuries along the way, but recuperated and beat his younger self's time record from seven years ago! (He is 42 now.)
