As the end of this academic year approaches, Classified Council is gearing up for the annual picnic on June 7. It will be the last event of the year for us. May has been a wonderful month of activities. Several of our board members volunteered at the Retirement/Recognition Luncheon, which was another great success.
Classified Council sponsored two events for Classified Employees Week. The Bingo games earned some lucky players a few prizes. One of the multi-game Bingo winners, JoAnn Naso won a lottery ticket worth $20. The 50/50 winner was Andrineh Dilanchian. The annual basketball game was the second event!
Every two years, Classified Council board elections are conducted. If you have a Classified Council member in mind that you would like to nominate to serve in any of the board positions, please look for the emails asking for nominations.
The Student Worker Scholarship applications were due May 26 so the committee will be getting together soon to select recipients.
Scholarship recipients are honored at the annual Classified Council picnic, which will be held Wednesday, June 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center. Everyone is welcome to attend. Members get free lunch and non-members pay $10 at the door or may pre-pay one of the Classified Council Board members before the event. The RSVP and sandwich choice (veggie or turkey) must be made by June 1. Go to www.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil to submit the form.
We look forward to seeing you at the picnic. We would also like to remind our members to vote in the upcoming board elections.
