Student Interviews Taking Place

You may have seen a new face around Garfield.

Her name is Toy Jones and she is working as a part-time hourly Student Services Assistant. She was hired as part of a planning effort to find out what kinds of classes our students might need in the future here in Noncredit, Continuing Education. She will also identify students who plan to transition to credit classes. If she hasn't already, she may soon be peeking her head into your classroom and asking to interview your students on a volunteer basis (with the exception of lower level ESL). These interviews are basic in nature and should not take longer than five to ten minutes. Ultimately, the hope is that as many students as possible from Garfield are given the opportunity to participate. During the interview, Ms. Jones will ask students about their goals. ESL Instructors may want to go over vocabulary with students that would be helpful in explaining future plans so that students are able to convey clear points about what they hope to do in the coming years.

Welcome Ms. Jones! Thank you for your efforts to support the future success of our programs here at Garfield.
