Our Wellness would like to welcome those that are back on campus. This semester we are offering a couple of things that will be in-person and a few that are remote. The wellness program is trying to appeal to those that are on campus, as well as those that aren’t.
Our newest in-person offering is our chair massages – yes, that is correct, they are back! I know that this was a faculty/staff favorite pre-pandemic. As people start to trickle back on campus we wanted to offer these again.

Mondays – Mindfulness/Mental Health Workshops
12:30pm - 1:00pm, 9/12 – 12/12, with Ruth Dease via Zoom
Ruth Dease is a Qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction instructor through UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Ruth received her bachelors and master’s degree in public health from California State University, Northridge. Ruth specializes in developing and delivering workplace wellness programs to local and national customers. Outside of work, Ruth enjoys cooking and baking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Mondays – Zumba
3:45pm - 4:45pm, 9/12 – 12/12, with Ani Hovhannisyan via Zoom
Wednesdays – Yoga
4:30pm - 5:30pm, with Arianne MacBean via Zoom
Tuesdays and Thursdays – Lifestyle Fitness Center (Faculty/Staff only)
3:30pm - 5:00pm, 9/6 – 12/15, with Jason Plourde – In Person (MASKS REQUIRED)
The Lifestyle Fitness Center will also be open to students the following hours. You are more than welcome to come at these times as well:
Monday: 11am – 1pm
Tuesday: 8am – 10am; 5pm – 7pm
Wednesday: 8am – 10am
Thursday: 11am – 1pm; 5pm – 7pm
The Lifestyle Fitness Center has both cardio and resistance equipment. Make sure you sign the Staff/Faculty book, so I can track for FLEX purposes. That’s right, you can earn FLEX credit for the Fitness Center and Live sessions of the Mindfulness Workshops, Zumba and Yoga.
If you can't make the times for Zumba or the Mindfulness Workshops on Monday, or Yoga on Wednesday, they will be offered asynchronously on the Glendale College Wellness Program YouTube channel. If you can’t make it to the Fitness Center on Tuesday or Thursday, you can find one of the past workouts on Glendale College Wellness Program YouTube channel.

Chair Massages – Yes they are back!
12:00pm – 2:00pm, 9/15, 10/13 (Garfield Campus), 11/17, 12/15 (MASKS REQUIRED)
Limited to 12 people per session. A sign-up sheet will be sent out one week before each session. Please limit yourself to 1 massage for the semester.
