Fall is off to a great start and Classified Council is looking forward to engaging with members for possible in-person events and definitely, fundraising for the student worker scholarships.
Even with limited and remote fundraising efforts, Classified Council was able to award five scholarships at the end of the spring semester. The scholarship recipients were enthusiastic when awarded the checks and a certificate in person at their work sites. It’s not quite the party we usually have for student worker recipients, but we did want to give them as much recognition as possible. The student workers represented The Welcome Center, Learning Commons/Canvas Live Help, and Student Activities Office. Go to glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil to see photos of our latest recipients.
Raising funds for the scholarships is the primary mission of our organization and we intend to continue our efforts this fall with our annual See’s Candy holiday sale.
