Jeanette Farr-Harkins (Theatre Arts) celebrated the latest publication through Smith & Kraus: a Monologue from her play The Artemis Cult in We/Us: Monogues for the Gender Minority.
On March 19th, Maria Kretzmann (Biology) got to celebrate her son Julian’s wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Abby Lustig, in San Jose del Cabo, Baja California, Mexico. Here is a picture of Maria in wedding attire with her two kids (Ariana was a member of Abby’s bridal party).
Sarah McLemore (English) placed 14th of the female runners of all ages who ran the Great Race of Agoura’s Triple Challenge. The triple challenge is a series of three separate back-to-back-to-back races (10K, 5K, and 1 mile) run on one morning in April. Sarah’s not much of a runner, but she was proud that she trained effectively enough to do well and not feel like she was run over by a truck the next day! And she has a new appreciation for our GCC Vaqueros Cross Country teams’ amazing skills!
Gabe Haraldson-Decker, son of Emily Haraldson (Art History), was recently recruited to join the orchestral, jazz, and commercial music programs at Concordia University Irvine. He auditioned and was admitted with several music and academic scholarships. Gabe has played violin since he was 5 and drums since he was 11. He currently plays in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and in various jazz ensembles at Fullerton College, composes his own orchestral and jazz pieces, and works around Orange County at various venues. He graduated from Buena Vista Virtual Academy early in December 2022 and is looking forward to what the future holds as a professional musician.
