Spring is here and Classified Council is ready raise some money for our student worker scholarships! The spring See’s Candies fundraiser will not be online this time. We are going back to in-person fundraising. Classified Council board members will have candy available at several offices on campus. Take a look at the items available for the fundraiser. Keep an eye out for emails announcing the sale!
Proceeds raised go to the Classified Council Student Worker Scholarships that are awarded each year at the end of the spring semester. The spring fundraiser raises the majority of the scholarship funds for us and when it goes well, we are able to present several scholarships.
If you have a student worker in your area, consider nominating them for a scholarship. We will be announcing the nomination period soon! If you want to take a look at what is required, take a look at the scholarship information. GCC student workers are so valuable to our campus life and work environments and represent diversity in so many ways. Our past recipients have included parenting students, recent immigrants, older students, and students who are the first in their family to attend any college.
Classified Council will also be holding elections this spring for the next two-year term. If you have an interest in serving on the Classified Council board and have questions, please contact me at wgrove@glendale.edu. Consider running for an executive or at-large position! We will also be asking for nominations.
