As we move forward remotely, I want to remind our current paid members of what I mentioned at Classified Institute Day. If you were a member in the 2019-2020 academic year, you are still a member this year. We are not doing a membership drive for the current year as the activities your membership dues contribute to will not be held. Though our student workers are not on campus and our fundraising events cannot be held in person, you can be sure that when the students and staff return, we will ramp up again with events, fundraisers and scholarships! Classified Council is primarily philanthropic but also supports staff development activities. There is going to be every effort to continue our guest lecture series in the spring, virtually. Members with ideas on topics or speakers, with an emphasis on social issues and nonprofit organizations, please contact me. In the meantime, I must give praise to our board and membership for their continued generosity and kindness to our students and community. I encourage members to support the efforts of our student groups and programs in helping others. I know many of you already volunteer at the monthly Mobile Food Pantry. We can also participate in campus efforts on anti-racism, the Undocumented Student Action Week, events and to support our Armenian community by contributing a letter for the ASGCC letter-writing campaign in support of Armenian soldiers in Artsakh that will be sent with care packages.
