Thank you, Sally!

In her gracious way, Sally Holmes, the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent/President and the Board of Trustees will retire in June after over 18 years of service to the college.

Sally has been a model employee who personifies everything good GCC stands for.

Her attributes are too many to mention but I am sure everyone will agree that her dedication to the college and her unwavering commitment to our students’ success is unmatched. Her kindness and the gentle manner in which she handles every situation is only surpassed by her vast knowledge and experience.

From her beginnings at the Adult Education office at Glendale High School campus, to the early stages of AmeriCorps, and then the office of Vice President of Student Services, and finally at the Superintendent/President’s office, Sally has touched many lives along the way, and has helped and encouraged countless students on their path towards their goals. Her belief in higher education and access for all students has been a driving force in her career. She has won the John A. Davitt Award for outstanding service earning the admiration of her peers on campus, and she has represented the college in the community well -- personifying the spirit of GCC.

Sally exemplifies grace, integrity, kindness, and keenness, and she leaves a legacy of impeccable service. Her friendship and allegiance is unparalleled, and she will be missed deeply as she begins a new chapter in her life.

Sally, we wish you all best in your journey.  Please know that you have touched many lives for the better, and for that we sincerely thank you.
