As Classified Council continues to operate primarily remotely, the challenge of holding formerly in-person events and scholarship fundraisers continues. We have always relied on the enthusiasm created by in-person interaction at our events to generate interest in supporting our membership and scholarship fundraising drives.
We have been able to shift to online fundraisers, which offer some benefits such as not having to book locations or carry around boxes, etc., but the face-to-face interactions are certainly missed. This fall, we have two online fundraisers lined up that provide a convenient way to support our student worker scholarships, which we optimistically hope to bestow in the near future.
Our longtime Tupperware representative is helping us set up a fundraiser that begins Thursday, Oct. 28. Information will be sent out via email. Details are still being worked out, but it looks like the annual holiday See’s candy fundraiser will begin in early to mid-November. As always, we thank the generous GCC employees for helping us raise money for the student worker scholarships.
