Susan Henry

Olivia Henry, GCC Alum and daughter of Susan Henry (English) and Tom Henry recently graduated from Portland State University with a major in Theater and a minor in Philosophy. Since graduating, Olivia has acted with the Twilight Theater Company, a professional theater group in Portland. She will spend this summer teaching at the Northwest Children's Theater and School.

On May 6, Peter Green (Music) released his latest CD, It’s About Time! This project was three years in the making and features wonderful music for horn including FOUR world premiere recordings! Michelle Stonis and Reut Cohen Schorr

Michelle Stonis (History) and Reut Cohen Schorr (Journalism) are pleased to announce the first GCC Pulitzer Center Fellow – Ms. Jaqueline Kamei. Ms. Kamei's reporting will focus on the challenges social media poses for the feminist movement, emphasizing psychology and evolving social mores. The Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium at GCC is a collaboration between History and Journalism.

Mona Field and Nadine Levyfield

Mona Field (Political Science) is delighted to share with friends and colleagues at GCC that she has become a double grandma recently. Her older daughter, Tania Verafield, gave birth to Leonardo Tennessee Verafield Bane on December 16, 2021.

And her younger daughter, Nadine Levyfield, from the GCC career center staff, gave birth on February 7, 2022 to Lev Noah Marshak. She is sure in the coming years that these little boys will appear on campus on a variety of occasions.

Catherine Dudley

Catherine Dudley (Nursing) just received her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Azusa Pacific. She graduated on May 7. The title of her dissertation is “Promoting Success of Military Veteran Nursing Students Through Connection and Community.”

Matt Braaten

Matt Braaten (Theatre Arts) co-wrote a play which will be premiering at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest theatre festival of its kind in the world. Matt is also producing and performing in the show, which runs this August 5-20. As part of his trip, Matt will be exploring ways to hopefully bring GCC theatre students to the Festival in the future.
