The academic year is winding down. It’s time to wrap things up and look to what the future brings in the new school year. Classified Council’s Student Worker Scholarship awards were reinstated after a long pandemic break. As of this writing, the submissions are not at the number we would normally receive, but that was expected with fewer student workers on campus this year. The classified staff who did submit nominations showed how much it means to them having students working in their areas and how valuable they are to our campus community. Sadly, we are not having a big event for the presentation of the scholarships as we have done in the past, but we will be posting their names on the Classified Council website glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil once the scholarship committee makes it official. Many thanks to everyone who helps make these scholarships possible.
For the fall, the Classified Council board will be looking at ways that we can move some of our activities back to in-person with as many safety precautions as possible. Outdoor activities are always fun and can be part of our fundraising efforts. We welcome any input and suggestions from our members. Keep an eye out for announcements and have a wonderful summer!
