Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni (Noncredit ESL) will be performing her solo show "One Drop of Love" for one night in LA before heading off on a Northeast tour this summer: Saturday, May 31st at 8:30PM at The Lounge Theatre in Hollywood. At the Kennedy Center American College Theatre National Festival in April, Jeanette Farr (Theatre Arts) was appointed as the National Playwriting Program Chair and will serve on the Executive Board for 3 years overseeing all eight regions.
She was also invited to attend SCRIPT: A Practical Workshop for Writers at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in June.

Teri Ismail's (Parent Support Center, CE) daughter, Deon Naney, got offered her first job as an on-duty nurse in Labor and Delivery.
Teri's other daughter, Layla Ismail, is graduating with honors with an AA degree in Paralegal and criminal justice.

Annette Kargodorian (Noncredit ESL) received a Special Service Award from the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club at their annual banquet at Brookside Country Club on May 4, 2014. Annette was recognized for years of service as treasurer of the Verdugo Hills Group, an outings leader, and a member of the International Committee.
Maria Kretzmann's (Biology) daughter, Ariana Sanudo-Kretzmann, double major in Political Science and English, graduated from Boston College on May 19, 2014.
Jane Lin's (Noncredit ESL) translations of "The City of Heart" by Prem Rawat, and "The Rage of Angels" by Sydney Sheldon were published in book form in China last February, and have since sold hundreds of copies and established a large number of readers.
Orlando Rivera (Alcohol and Drug Studies) just completed a course and is now a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) for alcohol & drug counselors in the State of California.
Ziad Sedki (Geology), a former student of GCC, received his MS in Geology this time last year from CSU-Long Beach. He is now back to our beautiful campus as an adjunct instructor of geology.
