As some of you know, Garfield has had the fortune of having a new Mariposa building, outdoor commons area and parking lot added in the last few years. However, while we have had a very nice cafeteria, it has only housed a few vending machines and not much else by way of sustenance. That has recently changed!
The Garfield community is proud to announce the opening of its first café, cleverly named “Garfield Café.” Prominently located in our Palm Court at 1122 East Garfield Ave., the café opened its doors (so to speak) on May 1, 2014. Serving the Garfield campus community, the café offers fresh roasted coffees, (flavored, blended, and specialty), breakfast, salads, and a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. More like a very large food stand than a traditional café, its hours are 8am-8pm Monday through Thursdays, and 8am-4pm on Fridays. The Garfield Café is a permanent addition to our family and head-and-shoulders above the alternative--vending machines.
If you find yourself down on the "South Campus," be sure to stop by and check out this new addition. For those who have already visited the Garfield Café, you will be happy to learn that there is a new menu reflecting half-order options at half-price and a deliciously well-made cup of coffee for only $1.00! The hours of operation are 8:00am-8:00pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:00am-4:00pm on Fridays.
