The Patrons Club of Glendale Community College held a luncheon for its scholarship recipients on May 15 at the J. Walter Smith Student Center on campus, hosted by the Culinary Arts Department.
This year, the Patrons Club awarded 42 scholarships and 30 grants-in-aid to deserving students, with a total amount of $23,500 distributed. Funds for these scholarships are generated from the yearly fashion show and silent auction, which this year will be held on Nov. 7 at the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank.
Superintendent/President Dr. David Viar welcomed the scholarship winners. Superintendent/President Emeritus Dr. John Davitt, a longtime supporter of the Patrons Club, congratulated the club for its dedication and effort in helping students achieve their educational goals.

The J. Walter Smith and Elsie Bishop Outstanding Man & Woman of the Year scholarships will be awarded at the Honors & Awards Banquet in June.
