Design Thinking at GCC

All For One

Project Stage: Implement

Our program’s mission is to teach children in the 5th grade how to stand up for themselves and learn how to handle multiple types of bullying. Our program offers a year-long curriculum in which each month is dedicated to teaching children about a different type of bullying through fun and active games. The program will go over the topics of self-image, differences, verbal bullying, cyber bullying, physical bullying, and group image (getting along / teamwork). Our courses will be taught through activities instead of just simple lesson plans. We want our students to become engaged in this learning experience and want them to be able to teach each other instead of needing adults to intervene. We believe that, with our program, we will be able to teach kids to stop bullying and start understanding each other.

Next Step: To create the long program that we designed into a more compressed version that gives the kids the concept that we want to teach. We want to show them how they can stop bullying from happening in a matter of three days, 2 hours each day.
