Device Check Out Information

Device Check Out

The library offers a wide selection of devices for students to checkout.

  • Students who are currently enrolled may borrow devices.
  • Students are required to fill out a equipment borrower agreement form in order to borrow devices.
  • Devices are loaned for the semester and do not have late fees.
  • Data saved to laptops, Chromebooks, and iPads are deleted upon return.

Devices that can be borrowed from the library include:

  • Calculators
    • Graphing
    • Scientific
  • Piano keyboard

All users of the library’s computers, mobile devices, and internet are expected to adhere to the college’s Information Technology Usage Policy

Friday and Saturday : 10:00AM - 2:00PM

Technical Information about Library Devices

About the Library laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks

  • Chromebooks and iPads have built-in microphones and cameras. Laptops may not have microphones and cameras.  All webcams have built in microphones. 
  • You cannot download software to laptops or Chromebooks. Contact your instructor if the software is critical to course completion.
  • You can download apps to iPads.
  • You can install apps or extensions in Chromebooks using "portable apps". See instructions here. (Video)
  • Zoom Virtual Backgrounds do not work on Chromebooks or iPads (iPad Air 2's). Laptops by default do not have the ability to use virtual backgrounds. To change this setting, complete the Device Help Form to request access to download Zoom Client on the laptop and allows for Zoom Virtual Backgrounds.
  • Flash must be installed in Chromebooks. See instructions here.

About the Library Hotspots

  • Up to 15 users at one time can link to this Hotspot.
  • Remember to keep the Hotspot charged.
  • Unlimited data. 
  • Each Hotspot comes with instructions. 

Students Attending Classes on the Garfield Campus

Garfield Students

  • Students attending classes on the Garfield Campus must submit a device request through their instructor. 
  • Please see the Garfield Library website for specific details on borrowing and returning devices. 
  • When available, Garfield students may borrow the following devices from the Garfield Library: Chromebooks, All-in-One desktop computers loaded with required software, hotspots, and calculators.
