Linking and Embedding Credo Content in Canvas For Faculty

Embedding Credo in Websites using HTML/Embed Code

As of Fall 2022, all browsers using the HTML embed code option for Credo may result in an error screen for users. Credo has suggestion two workarounds instead:

OPTION 1: Use screenshot of the item which when clicked opens the link in a new tab. We offer cover sheets which can be used as still images to then link out to the desired InfoLit materials (using proxied links) rather than actually embedding. This is an effective way to maximize real estate on the Guide page, as well as minimize any disruption in the user experience that may occur due to increasing challenges with embeds. Cover sheets are available for download here:

OPTION 2: Use the direct link to content as listed in the content "All Credo Modules" file.

Adding Credo Modules to Canvas

You can use Credo content as both ungraded and graded items in Canvas. Credo content is added to Canvas using the LTI links supplied below.

Graded Content (Pre and Post Test and Quizzes)

Graded content should be added as an Assignment. Adding the LTI link as an assignment will create a gradebook column for this item. This option should be used with test and quiz links so that the students' scores sync directly to the Canvas gradebook. An Assignment can then be added to a Module if desired.

Ungraded Content (Tutorials and Videos)

Ungraded content should be added as an external tool URL within a Module. Adding the LTI link directly to a Module as an external tool URL will not create a gradebook column. This option should be used with video and tutorial links, since these content types are ungraded and will not pass a grade back to your LMS.

Please note, ungraded content should NOT be added as an assignment - since this will create a gradebook column, but no grade will be passed back when the student completes it. If you wish to make an ungraded content item graded you will need to change the grading settings in Studio.
