Library Workshops
The library has workshop in person, using Zoom, and in Canvas. Be sure to check the location for more information. Each Canvas workshop is open for one week (7 days), and its activities may be completed at your own pace. The activities will take about 1 hour to complete, and must be finished within one week of the start date.
How to Sign Up for Library Workshops
- Log in to MyGCC > Other Services > Workshops > Library Workshops.
- Register for the workshop you'd like to take by 12pm PST the day before the start date, understanding that the workshop starts on the displayed date.
- You will be emailed via GCC inbox for your workshop (see below for notification).
- After the workshop ends, check my GCC 2-3 business days after the workshop end date for completion and credit.

How to Successfully Complete Canvas Library Workshops
- You are given one week to work asynchronously at your own pace on the one hour workshop content.
- Please read the instructions carefully before you begin each online activity.
- An instructor will actively monitor your work and progress, so please be thorough.
- Some activities/quizzes may need to be graded manually; an instructor will respond in timely fashion.
- You must finish all workshop content before the end of the week you are enrolled in to complete the workshop.
- Student attendance for online workshops is recorded in your instructor’s roster, same as traditional workshops.
Confirming Workshop Attendance
- Your attendance will be reported to your instructor's online class roster in myGCC automatically upon the completion of the workshop. You can check to see if the your workshop was confirmed for completion 48-72 hours AFTER workshop end date. (For example, if a workshop ends on Monday, 5/3, expect to see your completion in myGCC after Wednesday, 5/5)
- Please ask your class instructor to check her/his own online roster for verification of your workshop attendance; they can learn more about doing so at this link.
