Faculty Guide to Streaming Media

Swank Digital Campus offers a large catalog of streaming content, including documentaries, feature and foreign films, and some TV programs. This subscription complements our existing access to Kanopy and Films on Demand

The GCC Library works with SWANK to purchase year-long streaming licenses for film and television content for instructional use. The content can be embedded or linked into Canvas.

Requesting Access to a Film

Faculty may request access to films that are used as required course content. Please submit your request at least ten business days in advance of when your students need access.

  1. Go to the Swank Digital Campus platform
  2. Create an Instructor Account using your glendale.edu email address (instructions)
  3. Search the catalog (instructions)
  4. Submit a Title Request (instructions)

Please note that these film licenses do not include Public Performance Rights. Swank streaming films are only for use in GCC courses as required course content. For more information, review Swank's copyright policy on Legal Academic Streaming.

Library Processing of Requests

  • The Library will evaluate each request and will prioritize essential materials needed for course work.
  • Note that each request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and providing access may not be possible for certain titles.

If you have any questions, please contact Caroline Hallam, Adina Lerner or reach out to your division's liaison librarian.

Please note some titles with the disclaimer message “Additional fees and time may apply”, indicates titles without digital content.  We are not have access to these titles.
