Mission
The mission of the Zero & Low Textbook Cost (ZTC & LTC) Committee is to advise on administrative policies and procedures for zero and low textbook cost course sections and degree pathways. This committee reports to Academic Affairs.
Areas of committee activity and oversight include:
- Clarifying ZTC & LTC definitions
- Maintaining ZTC & LTC markings and search functionality in the online course schedule in accordance with California law and user experience best practices
- Standardizing processes for faculty to mark their courses as ZTC/LTC
- Developing and maintaining Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Degree Pathways
- Creating and maintaining accurate and user-friendly information and advertising for students about ZTC & LTC course sections and degrees
- Coordinating with college divisions, departments, and administration to promote ZTC & LTC course sections and degree pathways
- Maintaining ZTC & LTC statistics and conducting assessment
- Pursuing annual funding to support ZTC pathways
Composition
To the extent possible, faculty membership of the committee shall reflect divisional diversity, and members will be drawn from ITS, Curriculum, the Library, Student Services, Student Affairs, Institutional Research, and Communications.
Meeting Schedule
On the second Thursday of October, December, April, and June from 12:30-1:30 pm (twice per semester). This committee may meet during intersessions.
