GCC Library Databases

Databases can help you find articles about legal issues as well as information about specific legal cases, laws, and legislation.

Remote access to databases is limited to current GCC students, staff and faculty. To log in, please use your Canvas login credentials.

You can find a list of databases here, but to get started, try searching CQ Researcher to help research legal topics:

CQ Researcher

CQ Researcher provides original, comprehensive reports on current events. Each report includes background information on an issue as well as pro and con arguments and maps and graphs that provide statistical information. For legal topics, browse topics and click on the "Law and Justice" section.


ProQuest

In ProQuest, you can search for newspaper, magazine, and journal articles about legal decisions and cases. Some keywords to try include theses:

Federal supreme court

California supreme court


Issues & Controversies

Issues & Controversies explores topics related to politics, business, current events, and more. Featured resources include the Bill of Rights, court cases, and the presidency and presidential races.
