The justification of the work explains why your group is doing this project. What is it's purpose? What does it aim to achieve?
You and your team are employed by a competitor to National Geographic Tours and have been asked to plan an educational oceanic voyage to give customers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about the wonders of our ocean world first-hand. As part of this trip, you will make several preplanned stops at points of interest in your team's assigned ocean basin. Each team member has the job to research and write-up their findings about their assigned bathymetric feature, with emphasis on plate tectonic and geologic processes that have shaped the ocean basin as well as any any special tools that will be needed to give voyagers a first-hand experience (s.a. sampling tools, ROV, etc..). The work you do for this Ocean Voyage Capstone Project will be an integral part of our Final Assessment -- please be prepared to plan a route of travel to connect all of your team's sites to maximize efficiency utilizing ocean surface currents and prevailing wind patterns.
To achieve college-level work, please recognize that you are being asked to hold yourselves to a high standard of quality. The following words of advice outline what is expected of teams in the completion of the project.
The GCC Library has developed a CampusGuide for our Ocean Voyage Capstone Project (https://campusguides.glendale.edu/c.php?g=1384172&p=10235850) that will help you locate reliable references and conduct research with integrity. Please refer to this resource for guidance on finding and citing sources.
