Telling the Story

Similar to SMART Goals, add experience in the formula:

YOUR POSITION + TASK + IMPACT + METRIC

Instruction Example: As the Instructional Librarian, I lead and coordinated emerging technology initiatives for 40-50 First Year Seminar (FYS) courses per semester, improving information literacy skills for over 1,000 freshmen students.

Web Services Example: I maintain and iterate the Library’s website. This includes responsibility as the LibGuides lead and PRIMO-VE interface. I conduct User Experience sessions as needed. Our usage is rebounding after the Pandemic.

Tech Services Example: As the Technical Services Librarian, I lead and coordinate maintenance of Alma/PrimoVE, and supervise one technician. I participate in the statewide consortium as a member of the cataloging work group. Our consortia collection has increased access to materials.

Collection Development Example: As the Collection Development Librarian, I maintain a collection of 30,000 print titles and 40,000 ebooks. I work closely with tech services to ensure our materials are available promptly. I work with faculty to purchase up-to-date materials to fit specific curricula. Our circulation has increased by 22% since 2019.
