To find full-text articles free of cost, use one of the GCC Library Databases.
1. Go to the GCC Library web page ---> http://gcc.glendale.edu/gcclibrary
2. On the Library's web page, click to search specifically in article DATABASES.
On the GCC Library web site, you have two choices and both work (see the picture below). You can click the top tab that says "Databases" or click the link under "Research" that says "Databases A-Z."
3. Use the alphabetical list to open one of the databases listed below.
For Prof. McLemore's Take-Home Essay #2, these are the best databases to use:
- EBSCOhost - for respected magazines, newspapers, & scholarly journals. Click here for a short video demo.

- JSTOR - for scholarly journals only. Click here for a short video demo.
- U.S. Newsstream for respected newspapers only: The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Wall Street Journal
- JSTOR Images - for digital copies of major artworks. Includes paintings, drawings, photographs, architecture, sculpture, posters, and fashion.
You can use these databases for free from home! But you will need to login, using your Canvas login.
