How to Evaluate Sources

One reliable method to evaluate sources is called the C.R.A.A.P. Test. This acronym stands for

C - Currency: What date was the source originally published? Was it revised or updated?

R - Relevance: Who is the intended audience? Is the source related to your topic?

A - Authority: Who published the source? What are their credentials?

A - Accuracy: Where did the information originate from? Have you verified it with another reliable source?

P - Purpose: Is the purpose of the source to inform, educate, entertain, sell, persuade? Is it biased or objective?

The video below explains this method in detail.
