Day 1

Wednesday

2025: Arrival. Transfer from airport to hotel.

Day 2

Thursday

July 17

Breakfast. Orientation tour of the neighborhood including ATM, bank, pharmacy, food market, etc. We’ll also get SIM cards for your phones.  Then we will explore the Cascade Complex and Cafesjian Museum of Art. Free time in the afternoon, then meet up in the evening for a welcome dinner with guest presenters. Free evening to explore or relax.

Day 3

Friday

July 18

Breakfast. Yerevan City bus tour and Erebuni (old city ruins and museum). Afternoon visit to Tsitsernakabert (Genocide Memorial and Museum) after lunch at a local restaurant.  Free evening to explore or relax.

Day 4

Saturday

July 19

Day excursion to Garni (Pagan Temple) and Geghard (Church built in rock) with lunch near Geghard. We’ll also participate in a Lavash baking class before we head back to Yerevan. Free evening to explore or relax.

FREE DAY #1: Relax and explore Yerevan independently.

Day 6

Monday

July 21

After breakfast, head to Lake Sevan (40 miles). Spend the day at Lake Sevan; famous grilled fish for lunch, then head to Dilijan. Free evening to explore or relax. (Overnight in Dilijan).

Day 7

Tuesday 

July 22

Wake up in Dilijan.  After breakfast, day excursion starting with the Dilijan old city tour - Sharambeyan Street, then Museum of Folk Art and the Geological Museum of Dilijan.  After lunch, we’ll head back to the hotel in Dilijan. Free afternoon and evening to explore or relax. (Overnight in Dilijan).

Day 8

Wednesday

July 23

Wake up in Dilijan.  After breakfast, we head to Lori province (56 miles) to explore Zarni-Parni Cave Castle, Haghpat/Sanahin Monastery, and Tumanyan House Museum. Head to Gyumri. (Overnight in Gyumri).

Thursday

July 24

Day excursion in Gyumri. We will start with a city tour, stop by for lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life and Shiraz House Museum. Free evening to explore or relax. (Overnight in Gyumri).

Friday

July 25

Wake up in Gyumri. After breakfast, explore the city on your own.  We will check out of the hotel by noon, then free time for lunch.  After lunch, we will head back to Yerevan with a stop at Armenian Alphabet Alley. Check in to hotel in Yerevan. Free evening to explore or relax.

Morning visit to Folk Art and Printing Museums. Free time for lunch. 

After lunch, we will walk to the History Museum of Armenia. The afternoon is reserved for you will visit a museum/cultural institution of your choice and work in small groups to prepare a brief presentation for the class. Free evening to prepare, explore, or relax.

Final morning/afternoon to enjoy Yerevan. Free morning and afternoon to prepare for group presentations, explore, or relax. Meet up in the evening for Group Presentations and our Farewell Dinner.
