Google, WeChat, Facebook, Huawei and many other American and Chinese tech companies are racing to partner with governments across Africa and Asia, building telecom and tech infrastructure, ‘connecting the unconnected’ and making mobile technology much more affordable. But in the process, are they building data empires and colonising the internet?

‘Click Me’ - The Algorithm Made Me Do It: We’re living in a world driven by scrolls, swipes, taps and clicks. And all these have an impact - they could mean big money for corporations, a big story going viral or big votes for a political party. Many times though, the impact can be much grimmer: hate speech, lynchings, even deaths.

Unique algorithmic measurements of us that are revolutionising the process of identification.
