Library Services


  • Renewals can be made in person, over the phone, or online by logging into your account
  • Online renewals must be completed during open hoursView library hours.
    • Items are considered overdue after the library closes, even when renewing online.
    • Overdue items cannot be renewed online. 
  • Items which are on hold for another patron cannot be renewed.
  • Reserve materials may only be renewed if another copy is available.
    • Reserves may be renewed for up to 2 additional hours from the initial due time.
    • Students must wait 1 hour in between checking out the same reserve book.
  • Check Loan Periods to learn how many times you can renew an items as it varies by format.

Hold Requests

  • Hold requests can only be placed in person and on items that are already checked-out. 
  • Hold requests cannot be made online.
  • Once an item is available for pick up you will receive notification that it's ready and will be held at the Circulation Desk for 7 days. 
  • GCC employees may place a hold over the phone.

Returning Items

When the library is open, items may be returned at the Circulation Desk. If the library is closed, items may be returned in the book drops located outside the building.

The following items must be returned in person to a staff member at the Circulation Desk during open hours:

  • iPads
  • Laptops
  • Chromebooks
  • Course reserve materials
