On October 7th, 2011, the Academic Senate approved the creation of a Distance Education (DE) Taskforce. The Taskforce was to develop a Distance Education Program
On April 7, 2012, the DE Taskforce established the Committee of Distance Education (CODE). A DE plan was presented.
On May 5, 2012, CODE was approved. CODE was held responsible for the development of new policies and procedures aligning with accreditation regulations.
Mission Statement: The mission of the Distance Education Committee is to work with the Distance Education Chair and existing instructional programs to facilitate and improve online technology and learning. Each committee member will represent his/her division and act as a resource to all faculty members regarding exploration, development, and implementation of strategies that ensure strong andragogy in the online venue.
Since CODE is a task force of the Academic Senate, minutes were not required. Notes were used to archive the process and development of CODE. Minutes began to officially be noted starting February 13, 2013
