Vote 2022

A Guide to Election Resources

Be an informed voter and read about local and national issues.

Our mantra at Consumer Watchdog is simple, but effective. Expose rip-offs and injustice. Confront the industries and politicians responsible. Change the world.

OneSearch is a tool that can be used to find articles related to election issues in databases. Watch the video below to learn more about how to search for election information using OneSearch.

In OneSearch, start by entering the keywords of your topic in the search box

Use the Articles in Databases filter to limit your search.

When searching for resources, keep in mind that your topic are may have been written upon frequently in the past few years and your results list could be in the thousands.  To focus your search, you can try the following:

  • By location - state or city
  • By person
  • By date range: there is another filter in the left hand column to use to limit your results by date but in OneSearch this is not a month/date/year range like 4/1/2020 to 7/30/2022 but by year only, that is 2019-2022 or 2020-2022.
  • By Resource type:  You could chose a type of article to start with, e.g., newspaper articles for shorter articles with interviews or quotes, Reference entries for background information on your topic or journals for more in-depth coverage.

REMINDER: it's highly unlikely that you will receive zero results for a search on any of these topics, but if you do, then be sure to check your spelling - that's usually the problem.

OTHER DATABASES not included in OneSearch

Some of the databases to which the Library subscribes are not included in OneSearch or only partially included.  Two of these listed below are particularly useful for topics related to voting and elections.
