ESL 151 - READING AND COMPOSITION V - McGrath

Using OneSearch

OneSearch is the tool used at the GCC Library to help you find books and database articles with a single search! Watch this video to learn more.

Opening Articles with OneSearch

Look at the Details for any article that looks interesting, especially the Subjects which offer good clues regarding what the article is about.

When you're ready to read the article, click the option to View Online (you may be asked to use your Canvas logon to open the article).

Searching for Articles with OneSearch

From the Library homepage, click OneSearch to open it.

When you type your topic into the search box, new choices will appear. Choose the option to look for "Articles in Databases." The GIF right here shows how!

You can narrow the list of results on the left side of the screen, where it says "Refine my results." Scroll down and try one of the following...

• Limit by Date - Perhaps view only articles published in the past 10 years

• Limit by Resource Type - Newspaper Articles would be a good place to start! (For this assignment, we do NOT recommend you look at any article labeled "Peer-Reviewed.")
