Ready Reference Sources

All things reference

Welcome

Welcome to the GCC Library's new and improved Ready Reference Sources Guide. Here, you will find many of the library's reference books, both print and electronic plus pre-set searches you can use to go directly to the library's discovery tool, OneSearch.

To get started, click on the tab that lists the type of reference source you need. These categories include the most commonly used reference sources, both in print or electronic format: atlases and maps, biographies, dictionaries and encyclopedias, quotation books, style guides, and reference databases.

You can also chat with a GCC Librarian when the library is open. Just click on the Chat with Us tab on the side or at the bottom of each of the library's web pages to get started.

Why Use GCC Library's Reference Sources?

Most students start with Google or another search engine to get more information about an essay or research paper topic. By starting with the GCC Library's Reference Collection, students can find reliable, authoritative sources already vetted by the librarians at GCC. So start here when you need background information about a topic for your upcoming research project, essay, or any other assignment.
