Following our issue theme of "Springing Back Into GCC", we asked Governance Office Coordinator Frankie Strong about updates for Governance this month. Here's what she had to share with us:
Chaparral: What are some updates or news from Fall and Winter that you would like to share?
Frankie: Governance committees are moving to Board Docs. What this means is agenda and minutes will be available in this content management platform. As of this publishing, half of the 31 governance committees are now in Board Docs.
Chaparral: What work, areas, issues, or events are you focused on for Spring?
Frankie: Did I tell you about Board Docs? Continued move over to Board Docs for governance committees. Committees that have been using this platform for a while include the Board of Trustees; College Executive, Academic Senate, Governance Review, Student Affairs, and the other standing* governance committees. *(standing committees are of the 5 main areas of our college: College Exec, Institutional Planning, Administrative, Academic, and Student Services areas)
Chaparral: What is one thing you want Guild members to look out for this Spring? It can be an issue to check in about, an event, or something they should do to support.
Frankie: Have you been on campus, in your office, in a Zoom? Why not meet in person? So often I see Zoomers that are in their campus office - come together in person, please.
