On Thursday, March 7, 2024, CFT, AFT and FACCC joined together to create a truly inspiring event: March in March. As the name implies, there was a march held in Sacramento, from River Cats Stadium to the Capital, to show faculty, staff, and student unity and power to California's state representatives.
Many of our GCC faculty, staff, and ASGCC members made the trek to Sacramento and shared their experience with Chaparral:

“For me, the biggest takeaway is that our students work really hard and dedicate themselves to making sure that their education is the best experience it can be. The question becomes how can we as faculty/staff help support our students and their efforts? Participating in marches or going to government officials’ offices to support bills that help community colleges is something that I am looking forward to doing more of. It reminded me of other social justice movements that I’ve had the pleasure of participating in, and this march really helped reinvigorate my passion for these movements.” - Sangita Dube, English
