Faculty Guide to Streaming Media

Embedding Videos in Canvas

Faculty can share streaming video with students through Canvas and course shells are available for all classes. At the start of each semester, review your Canvas course shell and confirm that your streaming media links are active. Also check the expiration dates for all licensed streaming video included in your Canvas course.

Most streaming video databases generate embed codes that enable students to watch films through a video player within Canvas.

How do I embed a video?

What is it?

Films on Demand is an online library of streaming videos, as well as hundreds of PBS, BCC and HBO Documentary Films, with new titles added regularly.
