Chaparral 2013-2014: 22.3 Milestones

Alen Andriassian (Student Outreach & Assessment), and his wife Tenny are proud parents of their first child, Ella Renee Andriassian.  

Born on November 20th, just in time for Thanksgiving, Ella joined the Andriassian family at a healthy 9.3 pounds and 21 inches. Mom, dad, and Baby Ella are currently enjoying one another at home.  Congratulations Alen and Tenny!!

Dennis Doyle (English) recently released a music recording of Celtic harp instrumentals called "Land of Rest." The collection includes lovely Celtic tunes with harp, guitar, flute and concertinal.  Very relaxing.  Samples, CDs and downloads are available at cdbaby.com and locally at the Flowering Tree shop.

Aarin Edwards (CalWORKs) endured eight months of a painful illness and is healed.  She would like to thank her family at home and her family at GCC for their help, encouragement, support, patience, and faith in her ability to survive.  Please contact Aarin at X5846 if you would like more information about Steroid-Induced Eczema or if any type of steroid has been prescribed for your child. 

 Kudos to Denise Lencki Fejtek, daughter of Sharon Lencki (Aviation) and daughter-in-law of Stela Fejtek (DSPS). Denise is the first woman to complete the "Peak to the Heat Double" - the only woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest and compete in the World Championship Ironman in Kona Hawaii.

 Sarah McLemore (English) welcomes son, Zachary Stewart Schwendimann.  Zach was born on May 9, 2013 weighing in at 7 pounds 11 ounces.  He's already on the move, getting teeth, and doing his best to crawl.

Sarah confesses, "I don't think we know quite what we are in for, but we sure are enjoying the journey along the way!"

Anne Marie Novinger, retired Director of the Student Health Center from 1975 to 1995, just wrote her memoirs and they are doozies! (Her lifelong nickname is Murtz.)

Anne Marie and husband George are back again as owners of the Apple Shed in Tehachapi, now called Tehachapi's Original Apple Shed. Stop by for a great 1940's breakfast with ambrosial bacon and freshly squeezed orange juice! If you call first, Anne Marie and George just might meet you there and take you on a tour of their beautiful area.
