Fall semester activities for Classified Council are almost over, but two big fundraisers remain!
We had a fun pizza party for our members in the Student Center in late October, the timing of which provided for a Halloween-themed photo booth and a pie-baking contest. There is a photo gallery from the event on the Classified Council website.
We are currently gearing up for the Holiday See’s Candy fundraiser. The items will be available for purchase on campus the first week of December. These are the choices this year:
The two assortments and the peanut brittle boxes are $7 each and the lollipops are $1 each. Contact any board member to place an order. A sales table will be set up on campus with dates to be announced. The funds from the sale go towards the Student Worker Scholarships, and we thank the college community for the ongoing support. Though we welcome having GCC employees stop by our table to get a stocking stuffer and support the cause, ordering early ensures that you receive the items you want before we run out. The annual holiday party fundraiser is also fast approaching. The Thursday, Dec. 6 event at Acapulco restaurant in Glendale is a Classified Council tradition. We have several raffle prizes, including restaurant and retail gift cards, ceramic and photo art and other great items. The Classified Council holiday party is often referred to as the most fun event of the year, so do not miss out. Find the details at www.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil and click on Holiday Party. You can print out the RSVP form and return it with $20 for current members and $25 for non-members. The RSVP deadline is Dec. 3. If you are not sure of your membership status, please go to https://sp.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil/Pages/default.aspx and enter your first name. The membership deadline is Dec. 1. I want to thank our membership, supporters and board members for everything they do for Classified Council year round. Thanks also to everyone who helps make our scholarship fundraisers successful by purchasing sale items or event raffle tickets. It means so much to the scholarship recipients.
