Chaparral 2018-2019: 27.5 Classified Council Notes

Classified Employees Week is right around the corner! The week of May 20^th will feature events for classified staff including those sponsored by Classified Council. This year, we will be holding two sessions of Bingo games during the week instead of one. That means two days with chances to win! Keep an eye out for the announcement.

The month of May will also include the collection of applications for the Classified Council Student Worker Scholarships. Thanks to everyone who supported these scholarships with purchases from our recent fundraisers, especially the spring See’s chocolates sale. Without the support of the campus community, these scholarships would not be possible. The scholarships will be presented at the Classified Council Picnic in June. You will be seeing notifications for submitting your student worker applications very soon.

It is also going to be time for Classified Council Board elections! The current two-year terms are ending. Members will be asked to nominate candidates for the executive and members-at-large positions. To be eligible to run for a board position, you must be a current member, and the same goes for voting in the election. We hope to see members take an interest in serving on the board. It is a wonderful opportunity to plan networking, social and philanthropic activities, as well provide staff development events that earn CPGU.
