Chaparral 2011-2012: Classified Council Corner

CLASSIFIED COUNCIL CORNER

This Halloween, Classified Council hosted a competition for the best decorated office. This event was open to all classified, confidential and management staff, on both the Garfield and main campus.  The winners will be announced in the next edition of the Chaparral.

We also hosted a lecture by Dr. Wendy Fonarow, Associate Professor of Anthropology, on “Thirteen things you didn’t know about Halloween because you didn’t think of asking.”

We want to thank you for supporting our Tupperware fundraiser in October, and hope that you will continue to support us with our See’s candy fundraiser, starting in November.  One of Classified Council’s main priorities is to fundraise for student scholarships, so please consider purchasing a few See’s boxes from us. Not only are these candies quite delicious, but the price is most reasonable. Plus, you get to help out a deserving student at the same time.

Our Annual Holiday Party will take place at the Acapulco Restaurant in Glendale on Thursday, December 8. There will be good food, drink, company, and always many exciting raffle prizes to win. So forget that diet and join us for a fun evening with all your GCC work colleagues. Please watch your email for further details.
