GCC Library Guides to MLA, 7th edition, Style

The links below are to the Library's 2-page guides to MLA Style for creating the Works Cited page.  These guides are also available in print at the Library.

MLA Citation--A Basic Strategy

This presentation gives a very good overview of the Works Cited page.  It does not address in-text citations.

MLA Tutorial

This tutorial from the library of the Austin Community College District presents an overview of MLA documentation plus how to format works cited, the works cited page, and in-text citations.

Specialized Citations

Citing from an e-book reader, such as a Kindle, requires a somewhat different citation than other e-books.  Also, articles from a database like Opposing Viewpoints, which contains articles reprinted from various types of sources, requires a different citation format.  The links below are guides to these specialized types of citations.
