IC @ GCC

Welcome to Information Literacy/Competency Course modules! IC @ GCC modules or section tabs include section notes with learning objectives, and multimedia materials (videos, tutorials, and quizzes) on various Information Competency (IC) topics. Sections begin with a video or series of videos, and some are also followed by a series of tutorials and end with a post-quiz. GCC Library subscribes to two products:

• Credo Instruct (formerly Credo InfoLit Modules) includes over 80 digital resources to develop students' information literacy.  Items include text tutorials, videos, interactive exercises to practice concepts, quizzes, plus a pre and post test to assess baseline and learning.  
• Proquest Research Companion (PQRC) includes 10 learning modules of videos and text that focus on finding, evaluating and using information. It also includes a great module on plagiarism and using your own voice for students learning to cite.

Select the tabs on the left of this guide to view the products and learning modules. Modules usually include a list of learning outcomes, direct links to individual items in each module, and LTI links that can be used to place the items in Canvas in an Excel sheet.

IC @ GCC content is available to all currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.  IP authentication covers on-campus access.  Off-campus access requires login:

• Faculty/Staff - use your gcc email username and password
• Students - use your GCC student ID number for your username and your six digit birthday MMDDYY for your password
